Yana and Jack’s wedding was very special to us because we have known Yana her whole life and watched her grow up. This couple complements each other because they are both lovers and best friends at the same time. We were expecting this wedding to be magical, and it was much beyond that! Yana and Jack had a classic Ukrainian wedding, but with many unique characteristics to make it memorable for the English-speaking guests as well. One of the more fun Ukrainian traditions passed down for generations happened when Jack is seen bartering for the bride. The ceremony was held at Pokrova Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, in Parma, Ohio with its gold iconostasis and chandelier complementing the golden-yellow flowers and bridesmaids’ dresses. On the warm day of September 16, they took pictures outside by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Great Lakes Science Center. Their reception was held at Pokrova Parish Banquet Hall with beautiful yellow decorations to mark the start of autumn and Yana and Jack’s official married life together.
